Music and Community: A Midday Lecture with Composer Dan Visconti – Grand Teton Music Festival

As one of America’s most compelling compositional voices, Dan Visconti is expanding the soundscape and updating the role of the classical musician in the 21st century. Fifth House Ensemble’s resident Artistic Director shares his personal journey and approach to being a composer: someone who is a cultural ambassador and collaborator, deeply integrated in the communities that he serves.

Using musical examples and citing projects created in collaboration with Fifth House Ensemble, the Kronos Quartet, Opera Philadelphia, and others, Mr. Visconti charts his compositional process and how his own curiosity became a tool for inspiring curiosity in others.
